The technological world we live in today demands citizens who are good problem solvers. What is the better way to achieve good problem solving skills than to study mathematics, statistics or computing! The department of ASH is devoted to teaching quality undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It also explores convenient methods for advanced learning in science and technology. At present GCEW is having highly dedicated and qualified faculty members . Special classes for weak students are organized from time to time. All engineering developments are highly based on Physics and Mathematics. Hence a very strong foundation is required in these subjects.

Infrastructure Facility To imbibe the basic tenets of physics in the young minds, the department has a fully equipped physics laboratory with a capacity of more than 30 students at a time to perform the various experiments of optics, electricity and electronics according to the curriculum needs. Our fully equipped department of chemistry executes this in superb manner with the most modern state of art laboratory thereby enabling students to enhance their knowledge of physical science. Engineering Chemistry Lab is well equipped for lab exercises prescribed in the syllabus. It supplements theoretical knowledge. Instruction Manuals of the entire lab program are available for the guidance of the students. The English and Humanities orients students for appreciation of varied cultural expressions in literature , languages , art, philosophy , history and music. Its mission is to groom the overall personality of the students in a holistic manner and bring out the hidden talent. Technology having alone, does not make a perfect engineer. Therefore for the acquisition of true knowledge and correct interpretation of the utility of science and technology, one must be well versed in engineering language and communications skill. The qualified faculty of the department of ASH does it perfectly.

Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities plays a vital role in an engineering college catering to the teaching of basic Sciences and Humanities courses for engineering students of all branches such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computers, Electronics, Mechanics and Communication Skills in the mind of the learners, so that they proceed to rest of their years of study with up to date knowledge and training of basic engineering skills.

Applied Physics and chemistry provides a sound science base for all engineering disciplines in their first year. Applied mathematics is all pervasive and no field of engineering is completes without it. The department also sharpens their skills in communication and introduces them to the essentials of communication and communication skills in engg. as required by a practicing engineer or an entrepreneur.

The faculty members of the department are highly qualified, competent and humane, and deliver more than theoretical knowledge to students. They take up the additional responsibility of mentoring students who have barely crossed the threshold from a school to a Professional college.
